What Is the Film About?

Irritated by numerous instances of not being recognised for his help, Krishna decides to never help anyone again. However, destiny forces him to unexpectedly move to a village for a project where he has to do a massive help for the locals.

What is the project? Why did Krishna have to go there? How Krishna falls in love and subsequently helps the village people is the movie’s basic story.

Performances

Pradeep Machiraju picks another role that suits his age and personality. He plays a typical fun-living youngster who is irritated at the sight of a problem or romances a girl when not. It’s a two-note character, and the actor goes about the proceedings in a one-note way.

There is nothing memorable character-wise and even the romantic sequences don’t add to any positive impression. The sentiment scene towards the end also is not good.

Raja has a nothing sort of character. Although the basic plot revolves around her and the story moves due to her, there is nothing much for her to do as an actor.

Analysis

Nitin -Bharath duo directed the movie Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi. It is a rom-com cum coming-of-age drama where the lead realises his mistake.

The opening of the film is not to be missed as a lot of what happens is based on it. Things might turn out to be a lot more boring than it actually is, otherwise. Having said that, whatever is is also not that encouraging to begin with.

After the opening in the village, the story of Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi moves to the city, where the hero and his character are introduced. Once that’s done the narrative then moves to the village again.

The problem with Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi is biting and clueless narration. So much time gets wasted to establish the hero’s character, but we see none of it is part of the proceedings when the plot shifts to the village. We only get cursory mentions.

The focus mainly in the first and also in the half is on the comedy, gags based on the premise that’s been set. It’s here that some fun is delivered, but even this feels non-sync to what the movie wants to convey.

The first half itself feels never-ending when the interval arrives; it feels more like a relief.

The proceedings in the second half move to a city where an improbable, rather extraordinary, silly situation is faced by the hero. The comedy related to it is also in the same vein.

The romance track, which was intermittently part of proceedings in the first half, takes much more of a backseat post the interval. At a point, we even wonder if it even exists. We then get reminded of it via a scene and a song, which immediately makes one wish it had been put on the back burner like it was.

After a point, things again look like they are going nowhere when, all of a sudden, we have a fire accident leading to a rushed ending with a message. It feels so abrupt and contrived, highlighting the cluelessness of the team.

Overall, Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi is lousy from the start. There is some silly fun in between, but that’s about it. The silly and clueless proceedings are a turn-off. Skip it.

Performances by Others Actors

Apart from the main lead, Sathya, playing the sidekick comedian, is a relief. He saves many scenes with his timing. Unfortunately, there’s only so much he can do. Getup Seenu gets a few moments and is okay. Vennela Kishore appears briefly and is alright. Muralidhar Gaud does his routine. Rohini tries to bring some depth to her routine part but fails. The rest don’t get much to register.

Music and Other Departments?

Radhan provides the music. They sound nice with a vintage touch but are forgettable simultaneously. The many songs also act as speed breakers and look unnecessary in the proceedings. The background score is forgettable, barring a whistle blow that’s accompanied by a breezy romantic feeling windy sound. The cinematography is basic level. It could have been much better considering the village set up in the initial hour. The editing needed to be sharper. A lot feels unnecessary, adding to the duration. The writing has some moments of fun that entertain, but there’s nothing else to it.

Few Silly Laughs

Getup Sreenu
