AI Models To Curb GRE/TOEFL Malpractice

TOEFL Exams

The Educational Testing Service (ETS) has developed AI-driven models to detect anomalies and malpractice in online Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exams. ETS uses facial recognition, voice recognition, and typing pattern analysis to identify inconsistencies in candidates’ test-taking behavior.

The organization, authorized to conduct the GRE and TOEFL globally, has an Office of Testing Integrity (OTI) dedicated to reviewing every test for outliers and potential cheating.
