Australian skipper Pat Cummins has etched his name into IPL history by becoming the league’s costliest player to date. Sunrisers Hyderabad secured this milestone by acquiring Cummins for a staggering Rs. 20.5 crores during the ongoing IPL mini-auction in Dubai.
In a spirited bidding war between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore, Hyderabad emerged victorious in securing Cummins.

Cummins, who led Australia to victories in the World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup Championship this year, is likely to assume the captaincy for IPL 2024 with SRH. Alongside Cummins, SRH also bought Travis Head, the man of the match in the World Cup Final, and Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga.
