The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported a pneumonia outbreak among children in China, according to CGTN. Beijing attributed it to common respiratory problems in winter and clarified that no new virus is involved.
The WHO received accurate information about the respiratory issue, and tests conducted in Beijing and Liaoning did not detect any new virus. Beijing Children’s Hospital mentioned that the patients did not experience complications during treatment. The Chinese government has urged the use of masks and physical distancing, and some schools have temporarily closed to prevent the spread.
