Positive Response to Pending Challan Payments

Motorists in the state are responding positively to the payment of pending traffic challans, contributing to a total income of Rs 8.44 crore so far. According to sources from the Transport Department, this amount is a result of 9.61 lakh challans being paid across the state.

Notably, Hyderabad saw an income of Rs 2.62 crore from 3.54 lakh challans, while Cyberabad generated Rs 1.80 crore from 1.82 lakh challans. Rachakonda contributed 376.79 lakh through 93 thousand challans. However, server disruptions are occurring due to payment collisions.

 

In a significant development, Jio announced substantial discounts on pending challans. Two-wheelers and three-wheelers receive an 80 percent discount, while four-wheelers and heavy vehicles enjoy a 60 percent reduction. Additionally, RTC buses are granted a 90 percent subsidy.

 

The Transport Department Secretary issued an order to implement these discounts. With an estimated 2 crore challans by the end of the previous month, the government introduced further concessions.
