In a shocking turn of events, there are indications that Salaar’s team intends to pull the film’s release from PVR, INOX, and Miraj multiplex chains in South India.
Reports suggest that Salaar’s team is presently declining to supply content to national multiplex chains, citing alleged unfair trade practices across their properties in North India.
Allegedly, numerous theatres in North India are dedicating all their show slots to Dunki and displaying little interest in sharing the shows with Salaar. For instance, a PVR INOX single screen in Mumbai has allocated all its showtimes to Dunki and none to Salaar. It seems that more theatres might take a similar path in the North.
A valid argument from Salaar’s side is that the National Multiplexes should adhere to demand and they are not dedicating screens for Salaar even though the demand is higher than Dunki.
Losing Salaar in the South means losing a major chunk of revenue for these Multiplex Chains. They can not afford to do that. At the same time, these Multiplexes contribute to 30% Gross in many areas and so, it is important for Salaar as well.
Probably, they will indulge in talks to resolve the stalemate
