Director Koratala Siva landed in a legal trouble because of a case filed against his film Srimanthudu in the Supreme Court.
Writer Sarath Chandra filed a petition in the Nampally court alleging that Koratala copied his story published in the Swathi magazine to make the film Srimanthudu. The Nampally court later ordered to file criminal charges against Koratala. This led Koratala to approach the Telangana High Court. After examining the evidence submitted by Sarath Chandra and the report of the Writers Association, Telangana High Court gave the same decision as the Nampally court.
Eventually, Koratala approached the Supreme Court. The magistrate heard his petition. After examining, the bench decided that Koratala should face charges as per the directives of the local courts.
