Barrelakka, also known as Sirisha, emerged as a notable MLA contestant gaining social media attention in this year’s Telangana Elections. She contested from the Kollapur constituency in the Nagarkurnool district and faced defeat against the Congress candidate Jupally Krishna Rao.
At present, Barrelakka secured approximately 2500 votes. In response, she expressed her initial hopes for victory but gracefully accepted the people’s decision. She attributed her defeat primarily to the inability to conduct a door-to-door campaign in a short period.
Reflecting on her loss, Barrelakka noted that her young age and status as a first-time contender might have led some to perceive her as less serious. Despite this setback, she affirmed her commitment to serving the people and declared her intention to remain outside of any political party, even if offered the opportunity.
