Vote counting progresses in Telangana, showcasing Congress’s anticipated lead across most constituencies while the ruling BRS party trails. The 2023 assembly election’s first result reveals Congress’s securing of two seats in the joint Khammam district.
J. Adinarayana achieved victory in the Aswaraopet constituency for the Congress, triumphing over BRS candidate Mecha Nageswara Rao with a significant 28,358-vote margin. Additionally, in Yellandu, Koram Kanakaiah won against BRS candidate Banoth Hari Priya by a substantial majority of over 38000 votes. The Congress seems set to claim all 10 seats in the joint Khammam district (with their ally CPI leading in Kothagudem).
Celebrations have commenced at the Gandhi Bhavan, where exuberant Congress leaders celebrate their victory with lively firecrackers and dancing.
