The BJP is facing a precarious situation with emerging reports hinting at potential defections, especially as the Lok Sabha elections draw near. There are indications that a sitting MP and a former MP might switch allegiance to the Congress, aspiring to contest from their respective home constituencies under the Congress banner.
The former MP recently met Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, signaling a possible shift. The sitting MP, reportedly dissatisfied with the party’s national leadership for not securing a Cabinet position, had considered joining the Congress before the Assembly elections. This MP is believed to share a close association with Revanth Reddy.
Both leaders anticipate the Congress securing a majority of Lok Sabha seats under Revanth Reddy’s leadership. Their intention is to enhance their constituencies using state funds. If these speculations materialize, it could pose a significant setback for the BJP’s ambitions in Telangana, particularly as they aim to improve their performance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections following gains in the recent Assembly elections.
