Virat Kohli has just made history by becoming the joint highest century-scorer in the history of One Day International (ODI) cricket. He has matched Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 centuries in ODIs, achieving this milestone during the recent match against South Africa.
What sets Kohli apart is the speed at which he accomplished this feat. While Sachin Tendulkar took 451 innings to reach this milestone, Kohli achieved it in only 277 innings, making him the fastest player to reach 49 centuries in ODIs. Additionally, he is the first player to reach 50 centuries in white-ball cricket, which includes ODIs and T20s, and he now holds the second-most 50+ scores in ODIs.
Furthermore, in the ongoing World Cup, Kohli has surpassed the 500-run mark, solidifying his position as the third-highest run-scorer in the history of World Cups. Today also marks the birthday of Virat Kohli.
