A quarrel over excess red sauce at the momo cart in Bhikam Singh Colony in Vishwas Nagar, East Delhi, became violent on Wednesday evening, injuring a 34-year-old man. The victim, Kumar Sandeep, was stabbed numerous times in the face after an encounter with Vikas, a 23-year-old momo seller.
According to the police, the event began when Sandeep, who owns an amateur mobile charger manufacturing facility in Shahdara’s Bholanath Nagar, went to Vikas’ momo cart and asked for more red sauce. Vikas refused to supply extra sauce, claiming limited supplies and the necessity of feeding other customers, resulting in a violent fight.
Rohit Meena, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara), described the circumstances leading up to the incident. The police were notified of the stabbing via a call to the control center, which was subsequently passed to the Farsh Bazar Police Station. A crew was called to the site at Gali No-10 in Bhikam Singh Colony when they discovered Sandeep seriously injured. He was promptly sent to a neighborhood hospital for treatment.
After the incident, Vikas departed from the location, abandoning behind his momo van and his wounded victim. Vikas has now been charged with attempted murder per the provisions of section 307 of the Indian Penal Code by the Farsh Bazar police station. Efforts to arrest Vikas are ongoing, involving two investigative teams.
