Cyber crimes keep rising, and you see new traps every day. Police try to stop them, but fraudsters keep finding fresh ways to drain money and data. One careless call now places your personal life at risk.
A new phone call scam targets your phone directly. One call is enough to push your data to criminals. Your contacts and bank details get exposed within seconds, leaving you locked out of your own digital world.
The fraud runs under the name of Blue Dart, a trusted delivery brand. One such case involved a senior journalist in Hyderabad. The call claimed a parcel delivery and blamed a wrong address to keep the trap believable.
The caller then sends a number and urges you to call it. That number activates message forwarding without your knowledge. Once you dial, your messages start routing to cyber criminals in real time, say experts tracking this pattern.
Last Sunday, attackers also pushed APK files into WhatsApp groups. SBI account holders and even Telangana Ministers’ groups were targeted. Police now urge you to stay alert and never trust unknown links, calls, or app files.
