A very disturbing video has gone viral on social media which has shocked the entire nation. In the CCTV footage from a bar in Ranchi, a DJ, Sandeep Pramanik was shot at point blank range with a rifle by a masked man.
Sandeep was taken to a hospital where the doctors declared him dead. In a statement, the police said that the incident was carried out over a row which erupted due to Sandeep’s refusal to serve drinks to a group of people, given the bar had been closed for the night. One of them brought a rifle and shot him.
All of this was caught on a CCTV camera and it went viral on social media. The video led to several questions, the most prominent being, is it this easy to take a life? How did the shooter get his hands on such a modern and expensive piece of machinery when there are strict laws against it?
Police are trying the best to catch the shooter and his aliases but so far not much has been achieved. If criminals are able to carry out such activities in the capital city of Ranchi, one could only imagine the situation in the rest of the cities.
The situation needs to be dealt with absolute strictness and the situation around owning guns needs to be revised and enforced with utmost urgency.
