A disturbing crime has been reported from Gurugram, where a 19 year old student from Tripura was allegedly tortured by her live in partner. The incident has shocked the nation and sparked widespread outrage.
The victim had come to Delhi to pursue studies in Bio-technology. She reportedly met the accused, Shivam, through online dating apps, after which the two began living together.
According to reports, the relationship later turned toxic. The crime came to light on 16 February, after the accused allegedly held the victim captive for three days and subjected her to extreme physical and sexual abuse.
The girl was repeatedly assaulted and suffered severe injuries. She is currently undergoing treatment at Safdarjung hospital.
