Hyderabad Airport BlockedWith Fall semester about to commence in major universities abroad, students are queuing up to leave the country for a new chapter. But this farewell has created a new problem at the Hyderabad airport. The number of students leaving is so high that it nearly blocked the airport creating a ruckus.

Foreign universities are the first preference for many aspirants from the Telugu region and especially those aspiring to pursue a degree in MS. Majority of these students opt for a degree in USA, Germany, Canada or UK. They also constitute the highest majority of Indian students in universities abroad. The number of relatives and friends who are visiting the airport to bid adieu to their loved ones is as high as 50-60 persons per student. This has led to congestion at the airport roads and ramps.

The Hyderabad airport authority issued a new advisory highlighting the problems faced by fellow passengers because of the situation and has advised travelers to self limit the number of greeters at the airport. The airport is also under high security alert due for Independence day.

Some netizens see this as proof of a huge brain drain that the country is suffering from. Lucrative higher returns and a better job prospect is the number one driving force behind this craze for foreign universities.
