In a deeply tragic incident, a young couple from Jagitial district ended their lives within days of each other. The heartbreaking chain of events reportedly began after a minor argument over food.
Santosh Allepu (26), a resident of Erddandiki, Ibrahimpatnam, was married to Gangotri, a woman from his neighbourhood. The two had been in love for four years before tying the knot on September 26.
On October 2, the couple visited Gangotri’s parents’ house for Dassera celebrations. During lunch, Santosh allegedly scolded his wife for not adding enough spice to the mutton curry.
That night, Gangotri took her own life by hanging herself. Her sudden death left Santosh devastated and mentally disturbed.
Unable to cope with guilt and grief, Santosh travelled to his sister’s house in Adilabad a week ago. On Tuesday, when no one was at home, he too ended his life by hanging.
The tragic end of a four-year love story has left their families and neighbours in shock, highlighting the emotional toll of impulsive actions and unaddressed distress.
