A tragic medical blunder has left a boy and his family in shock, the boy is only nine years old. A boy from Shahapur in the Thane district of Maharashtra was taken to a government hospital with a leg injury; however, instead of treating his leg, the doctors circumcised him.
The boy’s parents are heartbroken and have reported a case to the police charging the doctor with malpractice. As for them, their son was admitted in the hospital on June 15 and was expected to receive treatment for leg injury. But the doctors have unnecessarily operated on his genitals.
The family is seeking to know the cause of the heinous blunder and is seeking justice. The health department has promised to investigate the episode and the police are on the process of doing the same.
This appalling case inevitably leads to questions about the professionalism of physicians and the effectiveness of their actions in the given state. The family is pressing charges against the erring doctors and demanding for compensation; the incident has triggered much anger and concern among the populace.
