ugc-net-exam-paper-leaked

In 2017, the Ministry of Education established the National Testing Agency which was given the responsibility to conduct entrance exams in the country. Very soon all major entrance exams were conducted by NTA. But we have come where we need to ask if this body is even capable of conducting exams.

Already shrouded by the NEET scandal, NTA has suffered another blow or it would be rather correct to say, landed a jab on the face of students. It has cancelled the NET UGC exam which was conducted on the 18th of June.

The ministry of education said that the integrity of the exam was compromised and hence it was decided to cancel the exam. Lakhs of students had appeared for it who had been preparing for it for years. This comes as a disheartening shock to them.

Students are losing their trust in the ministry of education to even function at the bare minimum level. On one hand it repeatedly denied the request to cancel NEET after its paper was allegedly leaked and on the other it overnight cancelled such a huge exam without even giving any explanation.

We are forced to ask what does the ministry mean by compromised integrity and why is there no proper explanation. Is it a case of another paper leak? If so then we must question why did NTA shifted back to pen and paper mode from the conventional computer based test.

The students deserve transparency when it comes to exams that can decide their future. If NTA is not capable of providing it then why should we allow such a body to conduct exams.
