In Prayagraj, a shocking case of deceit came to light. Afreen, a 47-year-old woman from Phulpur, staged a fake robbery with her younger lover. The plan was to cheat her own family by reporting a false theft worth 18 lakh rupees.
Afreen was in a relationship with a man about 20 years younger than her. He often visited her house when her husband was not around. Together, they plotted to make the family believe in a robbery.
On 21 September, Afreen told police that robbers had entered her home and stolen jewellery and cash. It looked like a serious crime at first, but police checked phone records and CCTV footage to confirm the truth.
Investigations revealed that the robbery was fake. The stolen valuables were recovered from Afreen and her lover. Both were arrested by Phulpur police and later produced in court.
This case highlights how dishonesty in relationships can destroy trust and even lead to crime. It stands as a reminder of how personal choices can have damaging social consequences.
