Last year, a report claimed that Ranbir Kapoor quit alcohol, smoking, and non-vegetarian food to play Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film, Ramayana.
However, a recent photo of Ranbir holding a drink at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding party on a cruise went viral on social media. In the picture, Ranbir is seen talking to Suhana Khan, with Shanaya Kapoor standing nearby, along with Mukesh and Akash Ambani.
A user shared the photo, saying, “So, Ranbir Kapoor quitting alcohol for his next project Ramayana was just a PR move.” Another commented, “He was also going to be vegetarian… as if. I think he just wants to shake off his ‘big beef guy’ image.”
A third user joked, “It was cashew juice; articles by his PR are on the way.” Another added, “His PR will say he was drinking tea from a whiskey glass.”
Some fans defended Ranbir, saying the drink was non-alcoholic.
Currently, Ranbir Kapoor is busy filming Ramayana, where he plays Lord Ram. The film features Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Raavan, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman.
Besides Ramayana, Ranbir will soon start filming for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, an epic love triangle also starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.
