The Indian judicial system has given us many historic decisions that make us believe in its sanctity. However there are times when it feels like the law is not equal for everyone. A video recently went viral in which a group of men were seen thrashing a young person who ran over and killed two people with his car. The 17 year old is already out on bail after killing two and the internet is not happy about it.
The teenager is a son of a wealthy builder from Pune, where the accident happened. Eye witnesses claim that he was driving his Porsche at a speed over 200 km/hr. The officials believe he was also under the influence of alcohol.
The Porsche rammed into a motorcycle on which the victims were riding and flung them on to another car. They were declared dead on the spot. The angry crowd caught the young driver and beat him up before handing him to the police.
The juvenile court has granted bail to him as it believes the crime committed was not ‘serious’. Instead of a strict punishment, the v court asked him to work with the traffic police for 15 days and write an essay on the accident.
