Sachin Tendulkar is one of India’s most recognized people, revered by millions, and dubbed the “God of Cricket.” Fans of the cricket star would go to any length to meet him.
However, the cricket star ran across another legend of the game on the streets of London. Tendulkar took to Twitter to post images of himself with former West Indies cricketer Brian Lara, whom he met by chance. Tendulkar accompanied the photos with a witty comment.
“I just happened to run into another avid golfer today!” Tendulkar responded with two laughing emojis and tagged the West Indies legend. The photographs showed the two cricketing legends strolling alongside each other, absorbed in the discussion, while passersby appeared unconcerned.
Photographer Atul Kasbekar commented on the photo, saying, “Imagine walking down the street in London and running into these two…!!!” “Two of the best batsmen of all time. The world’s best lefty-righty combination,” one netizen remarked. “Two of the greatest batsmen in any era,” another said. “Greatest Left and Right-Handed Batsmen of Cricket History Together,” said another.
Lara retired in 2007 after playing 299 One-Day Internationals and 131 Tests for the West Indies, amassing 10,405 and 11,953 runs, respectively. Tendulkar retired in 2013 after 200 Tests and 463 One-Day Internationals. Tendulkar has the most runs in Tests and ODIs, with 15,921 and 18,426 runs, respectively.
