Pakistan cricketers refuse to stop stooping to new lows as ex-cricketer Abdul Razzaq makes the headlines for his outright derogatory and bizarre comment towards Bollywood icon Aishwarya Rai.
It has been all disappointments in Pakistan since their team failed to secure a semi-final spot even in familiar conditions. This has led to their former cricketers reaching new lows on an everyday basis with now Abdul Razzaq, a former all-rounder, making unthinkable comments on Aishwarya Rai. Razzaq was invited in an interview where he is seen criticizing the Pakistan Cricket Team for their disappointing run saying the nation lacks intention to polish and develop the players.
The cricketer then needlessly dragged Aishwarya into the discussion saying if one thinks that they can marry Aishwarya Rai and still have beautiful, pious kids then they are foolish and wrong. Saying that it can never happen and asking people to correct their intentions first, Razzaq raised fingers on Aishwarya and his fellow teammate, Shahid Afridi, is seen laughing and clapping on these hideous remarks.
This is not the first incident of its kind with other cricketers having previously questioned ICC’s fairness regarding the tournament and that the Indian bowlers are being given different bowls and pitches to aid them. The ridiculous statements see no end and are being heavily criticized by users across the internet with people calling Razzaq’s statement “Third Class” and accused him of having a cheap mentality.
Pakistani legend Shoaib Akhtar joined in saying he highly condemns the statements made by his fellow countryman and that the people seated beside him should have raised their voice right away rather than laughing and clapping.
Just when you thought their dismal performance and exit from the World Cup and a casteist remarks of Wasim Akram on live television were the lowest moments for Pakistani cricket of late, Razzaq’s misogynist statements have made a significant contribution. Social media platform ‘X’ user, Shashank Singh is one amongst many to have displayed their disgust. He posted “This is the mentality of Pakistani Cricketers. Shame on you Abdul Razzaq for commenting on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Disgusting”.
We hope that this is the last of it from our neighboring hooligans but given their actions of late, one never knows. Meanwhile, India is all set to face arch-rivals New Zealand in semifinal 1 of the cricket world cup and Pakistan will have to satisfy themselves by being mere spectators as they’ve been given a humiliating exit from the tournament.
