A Delhi man has been arrested by the Goa Police for running over an elderly local woman named Maria Joao Fernandes over the issue of dogs.
The families of the victim and the perpetrator reportedly had a petty argument over dogs just before the incident.

The quarrel started when the victim’s son complained about the perpetrator’s family walking their dog too close to the former’s house.
Things quickly escalated over the days, leading to a physical fight between the two families.

It was after this fight that Deepan Batra hit the woman with his car as she was arranging chairs in front of her house.
Ironically enough, his own family was present with him in the car as he was doing this deed.

He then drove to the Mandrem Police Station, surrendering himself to law enforcement.
A police source reportedly claimed that the accused feared being attacked with a coconut-cutting tool by the woman’s family.

People should think twice before letting their dark side take over. Acting on impulse only leads to incidents like this where a human is now dead because of a stupid argument over the walking of dogs.
