A techie’s recent experience regarding a job interview has sparked discussions online due to its confrontational and unprofessional nature.
Speaking his mind on social media, the techie shared his plight during the interview as he was cornered, his personal space invaded by a panel of five interviewers.
Rather than asking about his qualifications and skills, the panel decided to focus on his gap years and previous jobs, which led to a feeling of helplessness and frustration.
The techie ended the interview midway, blatantly informing the panel regarding their rudeness.
He wrote, “I told them I didn’t find this a respectful way to evaluate candidates and that I was leaving.”
This has become a common phenomenon in India, where employees are considered to be more like expendable commodities rather than human beings.
Companies should understand that they need to hire employees based on their skill levels and not on the basis of mindless questioning and bootlicking capabilities to benefit themselves as well as the nation.
