A Bengaluru woman has alleged that she was secretly filmed inside the women’s washroom at Anand Sweets & Savouries’ Koramangala outlet on April 25. In a detailed video shared online, she recounted discovering a hidden mobile phone behind fibreglass and wooden plates near the toilet. The device appeared to move, indicating it was actively recording.

The woman alerted her friend and confronted the staff. After initial hesitation, the management reviewed CCTV footage, which showed a security guard entering a restricted area, followed by another employee leaving the premises.

The police were contacted, and by 9:10 PM, the accused, who works as a technician for a third-party agency was detained. Though he initially denied involvement, he later confessed.

Despite her ordeal, the woman claimed that staff and representatives pressured her to avoid legal action and attempted to downplay the incident. She filed an FIR and criticised the management for shifting responsibility onto a contractor and ignoring her trauma.

Anand Sweets later issued a statement condemning the incident, confirming that the accused was not a direct employee but a contracted technician. The company promised full cooperation with the investigation and announced new safety protocols, including appointing female washroom attendants and managers, as well as daily inspections.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage in online circles, with many calling for strict action and questioning the brand’s internal safeguards.
