
A tragic incident in Delhi’s Madhu Vihar has brought attention to the dangers of unregulated construction.

During a powerful dust storm on Friday evening, a wall from a six-story building under construction collapsed, killing one man and injuring two others. Shocking CCTV footage captured the moment debris rained down on unsuspecting pedestrians, followed by the sudden collapse of the wall.
Police confirmed that the construction was ongoing when the dust storm struck.

The two injured victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the body of the deceased was dragged to the side of the road by bystanders. ADCP Vineet Kumar stated that the police received a PCR call around 7 pm and arrived quickly at the scene.
The collapse wasn’t the only mishap during the storm. In Gurugram, a pole fell on a car traveling on the Dwarka Expressway, injuring two people. Meanwhile, the storm disrupted normal life across Delhi-NCR, delaying over 240 flights at IGI Airport and stranding passengers over two days.

Despite weather warnings, such accidents raise concerns about construction safety, especially in rapidly growing urban areas.
The lack of enforcement of safety standards during adverse weather conditions continues to put lives at risk. Authorities have yet to confirm whether proper permissions and safeguards were in place at the construction site.
