Holi, the colorful celebration of joy and happiness, comes with many interesting stories, sometimes good, sometimes bad. It’s a time when people forget their personal rivalries and come together. While many times we get news like people planning their revenges and personal grudges in the name of this festival. A very recent incident in Noida goes beyond love and hate, but it goes to an extreme which nobody could have anticipated.
In a viral video, we see a man riding a scooty. There are two girls sitting right behind him. And while, first of all, it calls for a tripling fine, as scooty is not meant for three people to ride. These girls are seen sitting facing each other and doing romantic acts on the vehicle. The girls are seen kissing passionately and playing Holi on the scooty. While this can’t be said wrong, ignoring personal safety and going for such dangerous acts can cause a huge fine. And thus, Noida police did their commendable act of charging a huge fine of 33000 to the owner, which includes dangerous driving, not wearing a helmet, and violation of air pollution standards.
While it is a topic of debate whether the act was justified or not, with some people calling it homophobic and something which can’t be tolerated in public, while others calling this an expression of love and LGBTQ+ rights. But what’s above all is safety measures, which shouldn’t be overlooked at any cost.
People also argue that the police are acting homophobic here, as they wouldn’t have charged such a huge fine if it were a boy and a girl making love. The couple in the video are social media influencers who have made similar reels on the road and even in the metro. But getting fined only on the scooty says that safety is always the priority.
