
In a bizarre incident from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, a woman allegedly eloped with her daughter’s fiancé just days before the wedding. According to reports, she also fled with Rs 3.5 lakh in cash and jewellery worth around Rs 5 lakh that was meant for the wedding.
The bride’s father, Jitendra Kumar, lodged a complaint with the local police after returning from Bengaluru, where he works. He stated that his daughter’s wedding was scheduled for April 16 and all arrangements had been made.

However, he grew suspicious after noticing the groom spent more time talking to his wife than with his daughter. “He used to talk to her almost 20–22 hours a day,” Jitendra said. “When I confronted him, he said, ‘You’ve troubled her for 20 years. Now let her live.’”
The bride-to-be, Shivani, expressed shock over the betrayal. She claimed her mother was fully manipulated by the man. “She did everything he told her. I just want the jewellery and money back. Whether they live or die, I don’t care anymore,” she said.

The local police have filed a missing persons report and begun a search for the runaway pair. The incident has left the family humiliated and stunned, especially as wedding invitations had already been sent out.
Authorities are currently investigating the matter and working to trace both individuals.
