The bigger, the better!”, at least Zomato agrees on that. Hence, they have announced the launch of a “large fleet order”. This will be a fleet specialized to handle party events or group gatherings of up to 50 people. The large orders and hectic logistics of that won’t be as much of a pain as it used to be. This kind of service is a first in India.
Chief Executive Officer of Zomato, Deepinder Goyal shared this announcement on X where he also mentioned that the vehicles delivering the goods will be all-electric. The vehicles are still in progress and essential enhancements are being added like cooling compartments and hot boxes with temperature control which will ensure the quality of the food as well as the temperature.
Though this initiative might seem helpful at first glance, but, for any large-scale party the norm is to book a venue at any restaurant or to book a catering service that gets the job done at a lower price in logistics as well. India where cheap and best is the moto for every customer, trying to provide a service and justify it at a higher price will be challenging to Zomato. The increment in cost with a limited service might not end up as fruitful as it seems.
