The suspension of the IPL due to the ongoing Indo-Pak tensions has created a massive turbulence in the cricketing world.
After the abandonment of the match between PBKS and DC, players of both teams were evacuated from Dharamsala through the Vande Bharat Express.
During the journey, the players were made to participate in propaganda-styled ads promoting the BCCI and the Indian Railways.
This led to a huge backlash from the public, who called the BCCI and the Railway Ministry out for manufacturing a situation by not evacuating players before the match, and then coming as a rescuer laced with cameras, filming the whole thing.
Many have termed these actions as ‘disgusting’ and ‘inhuman’, comparing them to propaganda videos from North Korea.
With the Indo-Pak tensions now somewhat cooled off due to a ceasefire, it will be interesting to see whether the IPL resumes its course or gets washed away completely.
