Team India Rift Rumours? Gambhir’s Big Response

Gautam Gambhir on Kohli Rohit rumours

India head coach Gautam Gambhir has responded to the rumours about tensions between him and senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

The topic has been widely discussed in recent months, especially after leadership changes in the ODI team.

Gambhir finally addressed the speculation and said people should understand that mistakes can happen when decisions are taken for the team.

The discussion around differences inside the Indian team grew stronger after Shubman Gill was appointed ODI captain last year.

At the same time, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had stepped away from Test cricket, which raised questions about their future before the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Even though the two senior players have not reacted publicly, Gambhir was asked about the issue during an interaction.

Responding to the question, Gautam Gambhir said he may have made mistakes during his time as coach but his intentions have always been right.

He said players and coaches are human and they should be allowed to make mistakes. According to Gambhir, a wrong decision taken with honest intent can be accepted, but decisions taken with the wrong intent will never be accepted inside the dressing room.

Gautam Gambhir also spoke about the constant hate on social media. He said he cannot keep answering every rumour or allegation on social media because his job is much bigger than that.

According to him, the Indian team belongs to the whole country and negative discussions about internal problems only harm the team.

With India now looking ahead to the 2027 ODI World Cup, the focus will remain on team planning.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are still important players in India’s ODI setup. Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill will now have the task of managing the team well as India prepares for the next major tournament.
