Mohammed Siraj has shown his love for India many times by turning matches in our favour. Yet, trolls online continue to target him without reason.
The Instagram Story
Siraj recently shared an Instagram story with an AI-generated image. It carried the words ‘Pray for Panjab’ and was meant to raise awareness about the devastating flood situation in the state.
Trolls Target Siraj
Instead of supporting the message, trolls focused on the spelling of Panjab. They claimed Siraj was praying for the Pakistani region, which is also written as Panjab.
The Reality Behind the Spelling
The truth is, Siraj did not write the text himself. It was generated by AI, which is known to make spelling errors. Criticising him for something beyond his control is unfair.
Panjab Exists in India Too
People also forget that Panjab University in Chandigarh uses the same spelling. So, the spelling itself is not wrong in all contexts.
Questioning Patriotism Is Unjust
Doubting a respected cricketer’s patriotism over a spelling issue is unreasonable. Mohammed Siraj deserves appreciation for his contributions, not senseless trolling.
