The standout performance came from captain Shreyas Iyer, who scored his first IPL century in a crucial game. His unbeaten innings played a key role in guiding Punjab Kings to a much needed victory.

Punjab Kings had a difficult start during the chase. Mohammed Shami dismissed Priyansh Arya on the first ball, and later removed Cooper Connolly after a quick 18 run contribution.

After early setbacks, Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran Singh rebuilt the innings. They added a strong 140 run partnership for the second wicket, which shifted momentum completely in Punjab’s favour.

Prabhsimran Singh scored 69 runs from 39 balls with an aggressive approach. He maintained pressure on the bowlers before being dismissed by Arjun Tendulkar at a crucial stage.

Shreyas Iyer remained steady till the end and finished the chase confidently. He scored an unbeaten 101 runs from 51 balls, including 11 fours and five sixes, marking his first IPL century.

Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants posted 196 for 6 after batting first. Josh Inglis led the scoring with 72 runs, while Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad added valuable runs in the final overs.

Captain Rishabh Pant contributed 26 runs during the innings. For Punjab Kings, Marco Jansen and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up two wickets each to control the opposition scoring.

Despite the win, Punjab Kings still rely on other results to secure a playoff spot. Their qualification depends on Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders losing their matches.

Punjab Kings can still qualify if Kolkata Knight Riders win, but only if the net run rate does not improve significantly. This adds further complexity to the playoff race.

For Kolkata Knight Riders, qualification depends on multiple factors. Mumbai Indians need to defeat Rajasthan Royals, and Kolkata must secure a large margin win against Delhi Capitals.

Punjab Kings have done their part by winning a pressure match. Their playoff fate now depends on how other teams perform in the remaining league games.
