Sunrisers got a big jolt on Friday. Already, the team is facing huge backlash for picking Pakistani spinner Abrar Ahmed for Rs 2.34 crore for The Hundred League to be held in England.

Kavya Maran‘s Sunrisers Leeds X account has been suspended. People across the country have shared Boycott Sunrisers Leeds, Boycott Sunrisers Hyderabad after Kavya Maran made the purchase.

After the account was reported, the social media site suspended the account. In fact, no one expected a Pakistani player would be picked by a team associated with IPL.

The Indians could not accept the decision and the backlash has been severe directly targeting Kavya Maran. Boycott Sunrisers Hyderabad flooded the internet.

The social media giant did not explain why the account was suspended, but there are reports that it was due to the massive and aggressive opposition to the decision.

Following Pehalgam incident and Operation Sindoor, relations between the two countries are strained. Sentiments are raw among Indians both within the country and those living outside India.

In a country that loves cricket, India-Pakistan match is a big emotion. Despite that a Pakistani playing as a part of an Indian team has made Indians bitter.
