Asked to bat first, England posted 150/4 in their 20 overs. Captain Nat Sciver Brunt remained unbeaten on 58 off 53 balls, while Freya Kemp scored an unbeaten 44 from 28 deliveries. Alice Capsey also made 23.

Australia’s bowlers kept England under pressure throughout the innings. Kim Garth was the most economical, conceding just 20 runs in her four overs, while Sophie Molineux, Annabel Sutherland and Lucy Hamilton picked up a wicket each.

Australia’s chase got off to a mixed start as Georgia Wall was dismissed for 9 by Lauren Bell.

Despite, Beth Mooney and Phoebe Litchfield took control of the innings with a 100 run partnership for the second wicket.

Litchfield fell just short of a half century, scoring 48 off 35 balls before Charlie Dean broke the stand.

Mooney continued to anchor the chase with a well made 64 off 49 balls, including 10 fours.

Although Sophie Ecclestone dismissed her before the finish, Australia was already in a commanding position and crossed the target with 17 balls to spare.

With this victory, Australia lifted the Women’s T20 World Cup trophy for a record seventh time, once again underlining their dominance. India, meanwhile, are still waiting to win their maiden Women’s T20 World Cup title.
