After the failure of Sikandar, A.R. Murugadoss returned with Madharaasi starring Sivakarthikeyan. Released in theatres on September 5, the film received mixed reactions from both critics and audiences. Expectations were high after Murugadoss’s confident promotions, but the response was divided.
