Dhanush is now acting as the lead in two projects: Idly Kadai, which he is directing himself, and a Bollywood movie, Tere Ishk Mein, directed by Anand L. Rai.
Apart from these two projects, he also has a project with Rajkumar Periyasamy, tentatively titled D55, and another commercial movie directed by Lubber Pandhu-famed Tamizharasan Pachamuthu in his lineup.
Recently, Dhanush announced his 56th project, which is going to be directed by Mari Selvaraj and produced by Vels Film International.
According to reports, this movie is a historical subject and is going to be made with a budget of almost ₹120 crores, said to be the biggest movie in Dhanush’s career.
Following this announcement, social media users responded that Mari Selvaraj has not yet proven himself as a commercial director and that his previous movies have focused on the theme of oppression.
Therefore, spending 120 crores on his directorial venture is considered a risky move and Dhanush’s biggest gamble.
However, the shooting of this movie is scheduled to begin once Dhanush completes his earlier commitments. It remains to be seen how this movie will shape up in the future and whether it will become a blockbuster success after its release.
