Critically acclaimed director Selvaraghavan, after the failure of Naane Varuvean released in 2022, is now directing two projects — 7G Rainbow Colony 2 and Mental Manadhil, starring GV Prakash Kumar in the lead.
Recently, Selvaraghavan participated in an interview in which the anchor of the show asked him when we can expect Ayirathil Oruvan 2.
Selvaraghavan opened up that during the time of Ayirathil Oruvan’s release, no one appreciated the movie, and it ended up as a disaster.
But after 10 years, Ayirathil Oruvan has turned into a cult classic among audiences, and wherever he goes, people and fans are requesting him to direct the sequel to the movie.
He also mentioned that it was a big blunder made by him and Dhanush to announce Ayirathil Oruvan 2 in 2021 after just one week of discussions. But if Ayirathil Oruvan 2 happens, it will be bigger than the first part, and he is also verithanama waiting to direct the sequel.
After this, Ayirathil Oruvan fans got excited and commented on social media that if Ayirathil Oruvan 2 happens, it will be a sure-shot blockbuster, and now Kollywood audiences have evolved, so they won’t disappoint Selvaraghavan this time.
However, we can’t expect Ayirathil Oruvan 2 anytime soon, as it requires a massive budget and Selvaraghavan is also not in form. Still, it remains to be seen whether Ayirathil Oruvan 2 will take off in the future.
