Vijay’s last film Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth, is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on January 9th as a Pongal special. With only a few weeks left, distribution activities are currently in full swing.
Earlier, there was strong speculation that Jana Nayagan would receive a pan-Indian release. Reports suggested the film would release in five languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. This created high expectations among fans across regions.
The team is also aiming for a strong presence in North Indian multiplexes. Because of this, the film is expected to arrive on OTT platforms only after eight weeks. North Indian multiplexes reportedly insist on an eight-week OTT window before allowing releases.
However, concerns are now growing around the Hindi version. So far, not a single Hindi poster has been released. There are also no updates regarding Hindi distribution or the release of Hindi version songs.
Due to this silence, many believe the Hindi release of Jana Nayagan may not happen. This has triggered anxiety among Vijay fans. Several are urging the production house to ensure a proper multi-language release, especially since it is the actor’s last film.
At the same time, some Kollywood trackers point out that even ground-level buzz appears limited. They warn that if this trend continues, Jana Nayagan may open lower than Vijay’s recent films at the box office.
For now, all eyes are on the coming weeks. It remains to be seen how the team handles promotions and whether Jana Nayagan can emerge as a blockbuster and serve as a memorable farewell for Vijay when it releases on January 9th.
