Sardar 2 Teaser: AI Shot Triggers Unexpected Backlash

Karthi in Sardar 2 teaser scene

The makers of Karthi‘s long pending project Sardar 2 directed by PS Mithran have recently released the most anticipated teaser of the film and it is now going viral on social media with mixed responses from the audience.

Since the original Sardar was a massive success, Sardar 2 has carried huge expectations among the audience since its announcement. Although the shooting of this film was completed at the beginning of 2025, financial issues caused the release of this film to be delayed multiple times. Finally, it is now gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on September 10th.

However, after watching the teaser, some viewers have shared positive responses, claiming that Sardar 2 seems like a proper action entertainer with spectacular visuals and they feel that it will emerge as a huge blockbuster success.

The only issue is that after the pan-Indian success of the spy action drama Dhurandhar franchise, audience perspectives on spy action dramas have changed. In this situation, the teaser made it evident that Sardar 2 is a mass masala action entertainer similar to YRF’s spy universe. Consequently, some people feel that Sardar 2 might end up as a disappointment due to a mediocre spy action setup.

Meanwhile, the teaser included a flashback sequence that was generated using AI. After watching the AI shot in the teaser, some people were shocked and started suggesting that it was just a normal shot that could have been easily achieved through live action.

They feel that the usage of AI in such a high-quality film looks odd and that the makers should have avoided using that particular shot in the teaser. They claim that this usage of AI might make the audience feel that the film contains many AI shots, which they suggest could affect the movie-watching experience.

Ultimately, with mixed reviews for the teaser, it remains to be seen whether Sardar 2 will satisfy the expectations of the audience and emerge as a blockbuster success upon its release on September 10th.
