Popular South Indian cinematographer George C Williams, who worked on Karthi’s long-awaited project Sardar 2 directed by PS Mithran, recently shared interesting details about the film in an interview. The shooting for Sardar 2 began in early 2024 and was reportedly completed by March 2025. Despite wrapping up production more than a year ago, the makers have not yet announced a release date. According to reports, the film’s release has been delayed due to financial challenges.

He revealed that a major fight sequence set inside an aircraft and the interval block are among the film’s biggest highlights. He also mentioned that around eight large sets were constructed for the project, making it the biggest film of his career.
The cinematographer further stated that editing and CG work are currently in progress and suggested that the film could be released soon. He also revealed that the production lasted for approximately 15 months, reflecting the scale and ambition of the project.
George C Williams also praised Karthi’s commitment and professionalism. According to him, Karthi remains deeply involved in understanding every aspect of filmmaking and is fully invested in the script and creative process.
While discussing Karthi’s transformation for the Sardar character, he explained that the makeup process had its limitations. Despite the makeup lasting for only around six hours, Karthi reportedly continued shooting for eight to twelve-hour schedules without hesitation, demonstrating his dedication to the role.
