Suriya‘s anticipated film Scene directed by Jithu Madhavan is all set to hit the screens on November 6th as a Diwali special. With only a few days left until the release, the Scene team is actively promoting the film through interviews and participating in promotional events.
Since the announcement, Scene has carried high expectations among audiences, as it is director Jithu Madhavan’s immediate next film after the massive success of Aavesham and also because Scene marks the Kollywood debut of Malayalam actor Naslen.
In this scenario, insider sources suggest that Scene is a good watch for urban audiences and might not work as well for B and C centres due to its unique plotline. Suriya and Naslen are expected to be the show-stealers, with both of their characters having unique traits and vibrant energy.
Furthermore, Scene has a strong possibility of connecting better with Telugu audiences than Tamil audiences, much like 24 and Vishwanath and Sons.
In response to these recent reports, some people feel that Jithu Madhavan has created a unique world and believe that Scene will be a solid film for Suriya.
At the same time, since insider sources clearly indicate that Scene is not a mediocre commercial entertainer and has a lot of unique subplots, trade circles fear that the film might fail to connect well with B and C centres, which could ultimately affect its overall box office collection.
However, some people do not believe these inside reports and are skeptical, suspecting that these early reviews might just be a PR campaign to boost the film’s hype among the audience.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen whether Scene will satisfy the expectations of the audience and emerge as a blockbuster success, helping Suriya achieve a hat-trick of commercial hits upon its release on November 6th.
