Recently Simran received an award for her performance in the tamil remake of Andhadhun, Andhagan. Her negative role showed her versatility and fans loved her new bold avatar in the film.
While accepting the award Simran took this moment to call out her haters. One of them included a friend, an unnamed actress who had looked down on her and laughed at her “aunty type roles”.

She said that doing mother or elder women’s roles are not at all shameful to her. She feels that each role brings out a new challenge and it is much better than “dabba roles”.
Simran used to be a leading star in the 2000s but now does roles other than the leading lady. Fans took her dabba role comment as an indication towards Jyothika who was seen in Netflix’s Dabba Cartel.

There were speculations that it was Jyothika who made fun of Simran and she took revenge by doing this. Now after the incident has been buzzing online, Simran clarified the situation.
She didn’t name any names but said she feels the film industry never lets 2 actresses be good friends. She shared that the person she was referring to in her speech contacted her.

The two confronted the issue but there was a lot of awkwardness between them. She feels that things won’t remain the same in their friendship now.
