Following the setback of Kanguva, Suriya is returning with Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, which is slated for a worldwide theatrical release tomorrow, May 1st.
The Retro team has done a lot of promotion for the movie by giving interviews to popular YouTube channels and conducting many events across the nation.

Recently, at the Telugu promotional event for Retro, Suriya confirmed that his next project will be with Venky Atluri, and the shooting of this project will start this May.
Earlier buzz suggested that Suriya, after completing the shooting of his 45th movie under RJ Balaji’s direction, would start the shooting of Vetrimaaran’s most anticipated Vaadivaasal.

But now, it looks like Suriya is going to immediately start Venky Atluri’s project and postpone Vaadivaasal.
Following this, some netizens on social media commented that the whole of Kollywood is waiting to witness Vaadivaasal, but Suriya is starting Venky Atluri’s project and is seemingly toying with Vetrimaaran by continuously postponing Vaadivaasal.

However, Suriya also confirmed at an event that the Vaadivaasal shooting will start later this year after Venky Atluri’s project.
