Despite featuring a big actor like Vijay Sethupathi, the Ace team failed to create anticipation among audiences for the movie, as it started its theatrical run yesterday with a poor opening.

According to reports, on the BookMyShow ticket booking platform, Sasi Kumar’s Tourist Family, on the 23rd day of its theatrical run yesterday, had ticket bookings on par with Vijay Sethupathi’s Ace Day-1 bookings.

Also, as of this morning, Ace has still not appeared in the hourly trend on the BookMyShow platform, whereas for Tourist Family, almost 1.5K tickets are being booked per hour.

Following this, some netizens responded that it seems Tourist Family, in its 4th week, has almost crushed Vijay Sethupathi’s Ace, which was just released yesterday.

From this, it is evident that despite star values, audiences are more interested in watching good content, irrespective of the stars, as the Tourist Family also outperformed Suriya’s Retro.
