Actor Vikram has officially announced his next project, tentatively titled Chiyaan 63, with debutant director Bodi Rajkumar. The announcement has sparked a major discussion on social media, with fans both curious and concerned about his decision.
For the past few years, Vikram has struggled to deliver a box office hit. His recent films, Thangalaan and Veera Dheera Sooran, received average reviews but ended up as theatrical failures despite decent expectations.
Earlier, Vikram had confirmed that Chiyaan 63 would be directed by Mandela and Maaveeran filmmaker Madonne Ashwin. However, that plan seems to have been dropped. Instead, Vikram has now teamed up with debutant Bodi Rajkumar, surprising both fans and trade analysts.
Many fans feel this is a risky move at this stage of his career. They believe Vikram should have chosen an established director after a string of underperforming films. His decision to trust a newcomer has therefore raised eyebrows across the industry.
Reports suggest that Bodi Rajkumar has directed three short films, two of which have won awards at multiple festivals. Vikram was reportedly impressed by his storytelling and signed the project immediately after hearing the narration.
Now, all eyes are on whether Vikram’s bold collaboration with Bodi Rajkumar will turn out to be the comeback success he needs. If the film connects with audiences, it could mark a strong turning point in his career.
