In a major update for India’s space exploration, another Indian will soon visit the ISS (International Space Station).
NASA and ISRO are working together to send an Indian in space, confirmed by both S Somnath and Bill Nelson, the ISRO and NASA chiefs respectively.
The said mission will take place by the end of next year with an Indian onboard an American space shuttle. The selection process will be done by ISRO.
This mission will not allow an Indian to visit the space since Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma’s flight in 1984 but also help ISRO to get the much needed exposure for its own manned mission, Gaganyan. Medical support, control handling and handling teams will be included in the mission too.
ISRO’s success is one the most awe-inspiring not just for us but the whole world because of ISRO’s cost effective and ingenious methods to get the job done.
Gaganyan is one of the many programmes that ISRO is working on that will affect the future of humankind in general.
