Threads has been in the news since its very first day in the office, managing to capture attention in no time. While it does enjoy the luxury of being a meta product, the fact that people are losing interest in Twitter (now X) has significantly contributed to its prominence.
In terms of the user base, the app has experienced it all. It skyrocketed to the top with 100 million users and downloads in just five days, breaking the record set by OpenAI’s ChatGPT in the race. However, Threads also went through a subsequent downfall, with people’s interest waning, and the platform is currently suffering in terms of its user numbers.
Like most meta apps, if it doesn’t succeed, just integrate it into Facebook. Following the integration of Instagram Reels into Facebook’s feed, Meta is now quietly pushing Threads onto Facebook’s newsfeed.
Without providing any clear explanation, they have introduced a section called “For You On Threads,” which is as annoying as you can imagine. Once known for its minimal clutter and reduced unnecessary traffic, the Facebook app has transformed into Meta’s playground.
This won’t be the sole update related to Threads, as the app has been undergoing several changes over the past couple of months. From seamlessly switching between multiple accounts to offering profile deletion options, the app is striving to provide a better alternative. Integrating it with Meta will likely lead to a larger user base.
